Dear Member

RE-OPENING OF THE GREEN

The new rules, protocols and guidance are in place to support the re-opening of the Green on Monday 18th May 2020. You should have received the information by e-mail. They are also available on the club web-site.

We have already received enquiries from members as to whether any of the rules governing the use of the Green can be relaxed (such as allowing spectators within the site). The answer is an emphatic NO.

The rules and protocols are in place to provide as safe and secure environment as possible for all of our members. There cannot be any exceptions. The club will review our rules and practices on a regular basis, particularly if we receive any further advice from Bowls England. We will of course be happy to receive member feed-back (via Gill Lunn please) but our priority will always be to provide a safe environment not to reduce safety standards.

Our judgement to re-open the Green has been taken after listening closely to Government and Bowls England advice but only on the understanding that the published restrictions are strictly applied. Members using the Green must appreciate the importance of the rules and protocols that have been issued and if there are any examples of non-compliance, the club will reluctantly be forced to review our decision to keep the Green open.

If any member needs to access the Clubhouse for bowls collection only, Gill Lunn will be available to arrange access on Monday 18th at 11.00am, Friday 22nd at 11.00am and Saturday 23rd at 11am for 1 hour only. Social distancing will apply at all times.

Please keep safe

Best wishes
